ENVIRONMENTAL

PROTECTION

"Green Friday" instead of "Black Week"

A great campaign that we were very happy to take part in was the "Green Friday" initiated by the EK in cooperation with the environmental organisation "Climatebloom".
Consumers, retailers and brand manufacturers throughout Germany contributed to sustainable environmental protection under the motto "an intact nature is not a matter of course". Thanks to the large number of participants, about 10,400 trees were planted and a forest area of about 41,600 square metres was reforested. This means that the natural and stable "EK mixed forest" has now grown to a total of 17,900 trees and thus to 71,600 square metres of green area.

A great action with full success!

We offer well-equipped, modern workplaces, promote health measures, guarantee a secure income, provide regular professional training and, as a family-run company, we feel responsible.

A good mix of young, innovative and experienced employees create both professionally and socially enriching cooperations and are a good basis for the future.

PRODUCTION

MADE IN GERMANY
Image slider
Tradition since 1956

Production in Germany is a key success factor and the core of our identity. We have been manufacturing kitchen gadgets since 1956.

Regular investments in our production facilities and machinery keep us up to date with modern technology. This enables us to produce in an energy- and performance-efficient way.
As a certified company, we regularly put all our processes to the test and optimise them.
Short distances, the highest quality standards and high availability for our customers are important to us.

EXPANSION OF SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION IN GERMANY

CLOSED

CYCLES

Energy and material: closed heating and recyclable material cycles

With our large photovoltaic system we produce our own
climate-friendly green electricity. Waste heat from production is recovered and fed into the heating circuit.

Our plastic kitchen gadgets are food-safe, BPA-free and 100% recyclable. Sprues in production, just like our metal waste, are returned to the material cycle.

The cardboard material used for our packaging consists of 90 to 100 % recycled material. Polybags are gradually being replaced by paper sleeves, and blister packs are giving way to plastic-free packaging solutions.

SUSTAINABLE

ALTERNATIVES

Sustainable alternatives wanted!

Is plastic generally evil?
No! Our products are designed for many years of use. The thermoplastics we use (PE, PS, PA, PP, ABS...) are 100% recyclable and can therefore be cleanly fed into the material cycle.

Which current alternatives are good solutions?
We reject solutions whose ecological statement competes with food production.
We also reject bogus solutions based on mixing crude oil-based plastics with ecological raw materials.
As a rule, these cannot be recycled. They can only be burnt and are thus a wrong way to go for a sustainable material management.

We are on the way!
A specially formed Westmark sustainability team is permanently engaged in researching ecologically optimised alternatives for plastics and testing them.
